Solar Quotes in Corpus Christi, TX

If AEP Texas is your utility

Many homes in the Corpus Christi area are served by AEP Texas (wires) and your retail electric provider. Confirm which rules apply to your account before you sign.

  • Buyback depends on your provider. In areas where you can shop for electricity, you can choose a retail plan with a buyback rate; in areas not open to competition, contact your utility. The PUCT notes the buyback rate is usually lower than the retail price, and Texas doesn't offer state grants or rebates for solar panels. • Texas law (PURA §39.101(b)(3)) says a customer is entitled to have access to on-site distributed generation; it doesn't set a statewide buyback rate. Source: https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/UT/htm/UT.39.htm (accessed 2026-10-20)
  • AEP Texas's delivery tariff (Section 6.1.2.4, current tariff effective September 29, 2026) says it interconnects distributed generation under PUCT rules 25.211 and 25.212. A pre-certified, exporting system of 0–10 kW that isn't on a network circuit pays a $0 pre-interconnection study fee; non-pre-certified or network-circuit systems can pay a fee (for example, $305 for a 0–10 kW exporting system that isn't pre-certified and isn't on a network circuit). A note on the federal tax credit

The federal residential clean energy credit (25D) doesn't apply to expenditures made after December 31, 2025. The IRS treats an expenditure as made when installation is completed. Questions to ask

  1. Which AEP Texas net metering or export rule will my system be on, and what is the current credit rate?
  2. How did you size the system against my last 12 months of usage, and what export share did you assume?
  3. Who files the interconnection application, and how long does permission to operate usually take here?
  4. What's included in the price (permits, inspections, monitoring), and what warranties cover panels, inverter and workmanship?
