Solar Quotes in Cleveland, OH

If The Illuminating Company (FirstEnergy) is your utility

  • Ohio's net-metering rule (Ohio Adm. Code 4901:1-10-28, effective April 8, 2024) says that when the utility receives more electricity from you than it supplies over a monthly billing cycle, the excess is converted to a monetary credit at the energy component of the utility's standard service offer, which carries forward on future bills. The utility isn't required to pay it out, and the credit may be lost if unused or if you stop taking service. • The Illuminating Company's Net Energy Metering Rider (Rider No. 17, in its 2026 tariff book) says that when your system feeds back more than you use in a billing period, the net kWh are credited at the Generation Service Rider charges and accumulate as a bill credit. You can request in writing a refund up to an annual true-up of 12 months of credits. A note on the federal tax credit

The federal residential clean energy credit (25D) doesn't apply to expenditures made after December 31, 2025. The IRS treats an expenditure as made when installation is completed.
